Packaging and supply chain solution provider ForeFront Supply Chain Solutions has introduced polyethylene bags containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content in the US.
This innovation is claimed to exceed the current extended producer responsibility (EPR) and retailer regulations.
The new bags from ForeFront are produced from the US Food and Drug Administration-compliant resins and feature certification seal from SCS Global Services.
The packaging reduces reliance on fossil fuels and lowers the carbon footprint associated with packaging.
The PCR content film can also be combined with 10% post-industrial recycled or bio-based content.
These sustainable flexible packaging solutions are part of ForeFront’s commitment to providing environmentally friendly options.

ForeFront aims to address the requirement of food manufacturers who must comply with upcoming packaging producer responsibility regulations set to take effect in July 2025.
In response to the growing demand for sustainable packaging, 10 US states including Illinois have enacted legislation related to ERP.
In addition, major retailers like Walmart are set to make recyclable or compostable packaging with a minimum recycled content mandatory by 2025.
Non-compliance with these requirements could result in significant penalties or removal from retail shelves.
ForeFront marketing supervisor Crystal Skipworth said: “Understanding the nuances of regulations can be challenging and time-consuming, which is where we can help.
“Most of our customers started their businesses because of a product they loved, not because they were enthusiastic about government and retailer compliance.”
