UK-based social enterprise Bryson Recycling has acquired four more robots from Recycleye Robotics to enhance operations at its Mallusk facility in Northern Ireland.

The investment is in line with Bryson’s strategy to build on the successful operation of its existing AI-powered Recycleye solution on its fibre line.

The company will install two of the four robots over a fibre line to pick out non-paper items such as plastics, cans, and cardboard to reduce contamination while the remaining robots will operate on a residual line to remove recyclable materials.

These new additions are expected to improve material quality, maximise recycling rates, and reduce residual waste and operational costs.

Bryson engineering manager Jaroslaw Stanislawek said: “We have decided to purchase four further robots from Recycleye, following the great results from the first one – almost 8,500 run hours, with around 5,000kg of materials picked per week, and with an availability greater than 98%. We feel confident this new installation will further improve the consistency in our material quality.”
